Bookkeeper IIIFisheries YKFPDepartment of Natural ResourcesHourly Wage: $13.87-$15.16/Regular/Full-Time Responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and for posting data to the JD Edwards Finance system. Process orders and payments to vendors and employees as required for day to day Business. Complete payments and control expenses by receiving processing, verifying and reconciling invoices/receipts from vendors. Detail work is required to assure all expenditures are paid and recorded in a timely and efficient manner. Prepares all travel arrangements for YKFP staff foreign travel included. Accurately compute Per Diem following Federal Travel Regulations. Responsible to post to cuff accounts and assure all documents are on file as back up documentation for financial reports. Processing of orders by YKFP biologists, check mail for incoming bills, contact vendors regarding questions on orders, post financial transactions to cuff account in a timely manner. Also day to day operations include contact with co-workers, vendors, tribal departments and the general public, requiring a professional attitude at all times.Examples of Work Performed:

• Train Bookkeeper II in complex A/P system for YKFP: includes up to 45 plus funds and funds with project numbers. Must keep up with fast pace daily workload.
• Process requisitions and orders by YKFP biologists and bookkeepers following up to assure required data for approval, fund accounts are assigned and respond to any questions as needed.
• Review all invoices/receipts for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment. Massive input for large bills by vendor, assure accuracy and proofread input.
• Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies.
• Ensure credit memos are applied correctly, issue stop payments or prepare purchase order amendments as needed.
• Process purchase orders for Capital Equipment assuring Capital Equipment or Construction In Progress forms are attached.
• Check incoming mail and assure invoices/receipts are prioritized by payment terms.
• Respond to all vendor inquiries.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of the JD Edwards financial system.
  • Knowledge of Accounts Payable/Receivable and Cuff Accounting.
  • Knowledge of policies applicable to Yakama Nation and Federal Funding Agencies.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Skills in basic accounting principles and documentation.
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Ability to multi-task with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.Minimum Requirements:
    • High School Diploma.
    • Two years of progressively responsible office work experience equivalent to a Bookkeeper II.
    • Required to pass pre-employment drug test.
    • Required to pass pre-employment background check.
    • Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Yakama Driving permit.
    • Enrolled Yakama Preference, but all qualified applicants are encouraged.
