Embedded in a marketing team, the Writer will draft copy for a variety of content, including email communications for Admissions, website content, marketing collateral copy, annual reports, digital ads, social media content, video scripts, press releases, newsletters, and award publications, among other materials. The Writer will be the voice of Enrollment Management and Auxiliary Enterprises and will work closely with the marketing teams to deliver high-quality storytelling and engaging marketing copy. This position will implement the new brand messaging of the university for Enrollment Management and Auxiliary Enterprises clients. This position will also lead the effort of bringing consistency to the voice in marketing materials by drafting policy and procedures for written content. Job Duties

- Write content for Enrollment Management Marketing and Auxiliary Marketing.
- Create engaging written content for a variety of media admissions drip emails, website content, marketing collateral copy, annual reports, digital ads, social media content, video scripts, press releases, newsletters, and award publications, among other materials.
- Bring consistency to the voice of Auxiliary Marketing and Enrollment Management Marketing in written content, and align with CWU's brand messaging.Editing:
- Assist the Enrollment Management and Auxiliary Marketing teams in proofing content before production and ensure consistency to the voice in all written content.
- Ensure that processes are in place for proper editing and proofing of all written content.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to edit and proof all website content for clients and ensure consistency.
- Proof other written content as needed.Training and Development:
- Develop policies and procedures to ensure consistency across the marketing teams.
- Create training materials and conduct trainings with marketing team to bring consistency to all written content.
- Train marketing team on writing styles and consistency with style guides for all marketing materials. - Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Creative Writing, Public Relations, Communications, or related field;
  • Experience in professional writing;
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including flexibility in writing style and tone;
  • Strong editing and proofing skills, and demonstrated attention to detail;
  • Professional experience in journalistic writing, copywriting, communications and/or marketing;
  • Demonstrated fluency with writing style guides;
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment;
  • Software proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat;
  • Demonstrated ability and/or experience working with co-workers from a wide range of abilities, backgrounds and experiences;
  • OR any combination of education and experience that clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the essential duties.Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience creating content for a variety of media (marketing materials, press releases, newsletter, websites, etc.);
    • Experience working with/in a marketing team;
    • Professional newspaper, magazine, online news organization, and/or higher education experience;
    • Experience or interest in mentoring students from a variety of backgrounds;

        Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

        Salary: $52,588 - $64,420 annually Schedule/Appointment: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (1 hour lunch) / Project position with expected end date to be one year after hire date Working Conditions: Work is performed in an indoor office setting with frequent, in-person interactions. It is essential to be able to remain at a desk/computer work station for prolonged periods of time, perform extensive data entry, and other computer-related tasks and create/maintain filing systems for departmental records. It will also be essential to be able to travel around campus for meetings, tasks, events. Some evening or weekend work and/or occasional travel may be required.
