Backcountry ski from your door or from lifts within an hour's drive. Job Description JOB SUMMARY The Hospitalist Director will be responsible for participating in an external program review process. The Interim Hospitalist Program Director will be expected to cooperate fully with external consultants. The consultants will be engaged by Admin Team to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the KVH Hospitalist Program and recommend program models that institutions of KVH's size and scope can sustain over time. The Hospitalist Medical Director will be full-time and will also function as a Hospitalist.-- DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES -- Problem solves issues of work schedule, reimbursement, work environment, etc., in coordination with appropriate administrative staff upon request; -- Coordinates with Nursing and other Department Directors to resolve patient or staff issues that require a team approach; -- Coordinates with Utilization Review in appropriate admission status determination and unit placement; -- Serves as chair of the Hospitalist department meetings, and participates in Med/Surg Peer Review; -- Maintains standardized practices around billing, documentation, and practice standards, educating and holding accountable all provider staff for documentation required for safe handoffs and supporting proper billing practices; -- Ensures that Standard of Care measures will be met throughout the MedSurg and CCU/ICU departments; -- Promotes and establishes a team approach to accomplish department goals and objectives; -- Creates a supportive, empowering environment by coaching employees and hospitalists. Listens actively to demonstrate understanding by asking questions and acknowledging the ideas and concerns of others; -- Encourages 'Patient Safety First' principles and a 'Just Culture' for all employees Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS -- Formal education as required for M.D. or D.O. -- Current CPR card (maintenance required) -- Current ACLS card (maintenance required) -- Board certified/eligible in Internal Medicine PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -- 2 years in an acute care, hospital environment Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
