Job Description:
We are looking for an RN to join the Medical Oncology/Hematology
team at Yakima Valley Memorial's North Star Lodge - a comprehensive
cancer care center that is a step beyond many major medical centers
in the United States. This RN will work alongside one of our
Oncologists, helping to manage the care of the physician's patient
panel. It's a busy, multi-faceted role that includes initiating
authorizations, coordinating orders, and patient education. This RN
will also work with the team of support services at North Star (a
triage RN, nutritionists, social workers, and financial advocates)
to make sure each patient has the very best experience possible.
ROLE SUMMARY The RN completes individualized patient assessments;
develops a care plan based on assessment/history findings; delivers
patient-centered care that is culturally appropriate; evaluates a
patient's response to care and revises as needed. The RN is
accountable to deliver care as well as to oversee and delegate to
other personnel (clinical & non-clinical) in delivering/supporting
the delivery of care. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Education:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.
Experience: Previous Oncology and outpatient care experience
preferred. Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Washington State
(DOH) Registered Nurse licensure required. American Heart
