Job BriefEarn extra income working 1-10 days/month as needed at our central fill pharmacy in Yakima or local pharmacies throughout the upper and lower Yakima Valley. Shifts are 8 or 10 hours, depending on the location.What we offer$76.16/hour per diem rateEssential Functions/Responsibilities/DutiesProvides patient care services as assigned, which include but are not limited to:Drug Utilization ReviewPatient CounselingDrug Regimen ReviewMedication Therapy ManagementCollaborative Drug Therapy Management or other post-diagnostic disease state management, pursuant to a valid agreementPrescribe a drug or device, as authorized by statute according to Drug Therapy Management ProtocolsOrders, interprets, and monitors laboratory testsReceipt or transfer of a prescriptionProvides direct oversight of pharmacy personnel and ensures that they work only within the scope of practice and duties of their licensure.Ensures the security of the pharmacy area including the provision of adequate safeguards against theft or diversion of prescription drugs.Ensures that all records and inventories are maintained in accordance with state and federal laws.Ensures all prescriptions, prescription refills, and drug orders are correctly dispensed according to the prescribing providers authorization and YVFWC policies and procedures.Maintains active licensure and pharmacological knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing professional networks, participating in professional societies.Performs clinical responsibilities in alignment with The Joint Commission (TJC), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and YVFWC requirements.QualificationsEducation: Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy. Pharm D Degree preferred.Experience: One year's experience working as a licensed Pharmacist is a plus. NOTE: We consider the following residencies as the equivalent of work as a licensed Pharmacist: Post Graduate Year-1 (PGY-1) is the equivalent of 2 years, Post Graduate Year 2 (PGY-2) is the equivalent of 3 yearsProfessional Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Current WA State Pharmacist License. A valid Drivers License and proof of automobile liability insurance coverage.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Understands the professional expectations associated with the pharmacists role. Current knowledge of community pharmacy practice. Subject matter expert in drug therapy. Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Working knowledge of inventory management preferred. Current knowledge of State and Federal Pharmacy Laws. Strong attention to detail. Effective verbal and listening communication skills with a customer-oriented approach. Ability to prioritize work while performing multiple tasks requiring attention to detail, with frequent interruptions. Intermediate proficiency with a variety of computer systems including Microsoft Office preferred. Basic knowledge of at least one pharmacy software system with ability to learn new ones.Drug testing: This position requires testing for controlled substances before employment and will be subject to further testing throughout employment.About YVFWCWe serve more than 197,000 patients across 28 medical clinics, 15 dental clinics, 11 pharmacies, and 49 program sites in two states.
