Job Description:

The Palliative Care unit is a 10-room adult inpatient unit specializing in symptom relief and holistic support for patients with serious illnesses, focusing on patient-centered, interprofessional care addressing physical, psychological, social, spiritual, and bereavement needs.

As a registered nurse, you will deliver compassionate care, demonstrating respect, kindness, and empathy to patients, families, visitors, and colleagues.

You will assume primary responsibility for coordinating individualized care, performing age-specific assessments, developing and updating interdisciplinary care plans, and ensuring accurate documentation of treatments and medications using electronic medical records.

Requirements include a nursing degree from an accredited program, Virginia RN licensure or eligibility, CPR certification, and computer skills for electronic records. Additional certifications like ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be needed.

The role involves working day, evening, or night shifts, including weekends and holidays, with a focus on collaborative, team-oriented patient care in a supportive environment.
