Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a
qualified OR RN in Hermiston, Oregon, 97838! Job Title: OR Nurse
Manager Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgical Services Duration:
13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 5
years of operating room or ambulatory surgery center experience.
Experience in the following specialties: robotics, ortho, urology,
general surgery, GYN, neuro, ERCP, and vascular. Previous
management experience preferred. License: Current Registered Nurse
license in the State. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CNOR
Must-Have: Bachelor of Science in Nursing Description: The OR Nurse
Manager works with the surgical services leadership team and
nursing supervisor to coordinate departmental activities over a
24-hour period. Reports to the Director of Surgical Services.
Responsible and accountable for coordinating and supervising the
intraoperative nursing care provided to patients having operative
or other invasive procedures. Requires a working knowledge of the
medical/legal and accreditation aspects of nursing. Includes direct
supervision of RNs, LPNs, scrub technologists, perioperative aides,
CNAs, and unit clerks. Manages the OR areas both operationally and
fiscally. Assists in developing the operational and capital budget.
Verifies that OR personnel provide safe patient care in the area
managed. Incorporates and assists with OR personnel with
assimilating evidence-based practices into patient care. Assists OR
personnel in evaluating practice and creating strategies for
further improvement. Verifies that educational resources are
available for team education and holds personnel accountable for
attendance and completion. Coordinates, facilitates, and manages
changes within the OR. Demonstrates effective communication,
consultation, negotiation, and collaboration skills with members of
the perioperative team and other stakeholders. Collects and
analyzes data related to performance improvement projects that
apply to the area managed. Uses effective conflict resolution
techniques. Facilitates or serves as a member of a
multidisciplinary team in planning OR patient care. Evaluates OR
personnel performance. Interviews for OR personnel selection.
Verifies that necessary OR personnel, equipment, and supplies are
available. Verifies OR personnel compliance with organizational
policies and procedures and regulatory and accreditation standards.
Provides guidance, support, and constructive feedback to the
surgical team. Exhibits professional, interpersonal, and
communication skills. Uses effective project management principles.
Pursues professional growth and participates in a professional
organization. Acts as a patient advocate and maintains privacy and
confidentiality of individuals and health information. Maintains
nursing guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
Ensures operation of medical and administrative equipment by
verifying emergency equipment availability, completing preventive
maintenance requirements, following manufacturers' instructions,
troubleshooting malfunctions, and maintaining equipment
inventories. Supports the hospital mission, vision, values,
policies, and procedures. Participates in required education for
applicable programs. Performs other related duties as assigned. 5
