Gee Whiz, part of the Auvil Fruit family of companies, is a premium grower and producer of Washington apples and cherries sold under the highly regarded Gee Whiz brand.

We are seeking a qualified individual to join our team as a Systems Administrator, helping us support our growing company.

Job Description

Under the supervision and direction of the Director of Human Resources and Safety, the HR Specialist provides daily administrative support and record keeping functions of the Team Member Services Department to the Auvil Fruit Company. The HR Specialist is responsible for effective administration of company policies and procedures, onboarding, benefits administration, training, and employee relations in support of Auvil Custom Farming Services and Gee Whiz II.

Qualifications

Essential Functions
Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
Complete Forms I-9, verify I-9 documentation and maintain I-9 files. Submit online investigation requests and assist with new-employee background checks and drug screening.
Assist with processing of terminations.
Schedule meetings and interviews as requested.
Assist and advise orchard managers and supervisors on HR and management issues as needed.
Make photocopies; mail, scan and email documents; and perform other clerical functions.
File documents into appropriate employee files.
Assist employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
Schedule and perform new-employee orientations.
Assist with the administration of health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations. Process required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
Assist with administering safety programs including orientation, on-going safety training/awareness, drug and alcohol program, employee rewards program and accident prevention.
Assist in performing accident investigation inquiries and analysis
Aid in translation of various documents (policies, memos, benefits information, etc.) from English to Spanish for dissemination to all Auvil Fruit employees.
Participate in weekly HR team meetings
Conduct exit interviews.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Education And Experience
Associate's degree in Business or Administrative Management, or related field.
Two to five years in an administrative or HR role.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects.

Preferred Education And Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or closely-related field.
Verified work experience in local agriculture.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and other office machines.

This job occasionally works in outdoor or agricultural settings where the employee may be exposed to high noise levels, extreme weather conditions, fumes or particulates in the air.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time hourly position. Some flexibility in hours may be allowed, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

This position may require up to 20% travel. Most travel is within the local area and does not require overnight stays. Occasionally, travel outside the local area and overnight stays will be required.
