Job Description:
Adaugeo Healthcare is seeking a Patient Account Specialist with
outstanding customer service skills for a full time position. We
are looking for a candidate with customer service experience and a
willingness to support the needs of both our internal and external
customers as well as the goals of the job and the team. In this
role, you will provide prompt and courteous service to clients and
patients in the areas of billing, payment posting, and customer
service, perform data entry to accurately post payments and
information to patient and client accounts and adhere to HIPAA
policies to assure patient confidentiality. You will also ensure
optimal and timely reimbursement from third party payers, be
responsible for Accounts Receivable goals and denial management and
perform retrospective analytics and data mining of information from
billing systems.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the
following:
- Performs data entry and efficiently utilizes laboratory billing
software programs as well as payer eligibility programs, etc.
- Accurately posts payments to patient and client accounts;
balancing and reconciliation.
- Works efficiently while receiving a high volume of calls while
maintaining a professional, polite manner.
- Provides exceptional service by telephone, e-mail and in person
to external (patients, clients) and internal (other departments,
lab sites, etc.) customers.
- Understands basics of HCFA professional billing and
reimbursement from insurance companies, CPT and ICD-10 coding,
patient billing and collections.
- Understands and adheres to HIPAA, HITECH and Medicare
compliance, policies, procedures and regulations.
- Understands and maintains knowledge of insurance billing
policies.
- Works assigned past due accounts and makes collection
calls.
- Develops and documents procedures as needed for new workflow
processes.
- Analyzes processes that impact accounts receivable and
recommends solutions.
- Follows all established quality protocols.

- High School diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).
- Understanding and experience with Business Math; Excellent
Customer Service skills; basic keyboard and computer skills;

Manual dexterity for office machine operation including computer
