What are we looking for in a Division Chief of Substance Use and Integration Services?
This leadership position is responsible for managing and developing all substance use and addiction treatment programs throughout the organization and ensuring full integration of this service line with our existing continuum of care. In coordination with the senior leadership team, the Division Chief will evaluate and examine the ROI of current addiction programs to determine impact and viability, while building strong cross-functional relationships with other departments to drive the growth of our existing SUD programs. In addition, the Division Chief of Substance Use and Integration Services will identify market opportunities to develop additional services that enhance our MAT and SUD offerings to meet clients' needs, improve clients' access to care, and develop partnerships with other community providers. This role requires expert-level knowledge of evidence-based substance use and addiction treatment, strong business acumen, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to a culture of accountability for oneself and the teams this position will supervise. Although this position is based in Yakima, some travel to our other five campuses throughout south-central Washington is expected to provide adequate support and supervision to all programs.

Duties for the Division Chief of Substance Use and Integration Services include:

  • managing all substance use and addiction treatment across the organization and fully integrating these services within our existing continuum of care
  • developing and expanding SUD & MAT services to fill unmet needs in the community while ensuring Comprehensive Healthcare is the provider of choice in our service area
  • ensuring the delivery of appropriate, clinically-effective, and culturally-competent services across all programs by managing staff levels, work assignments, and internal processes
  • developing yearly goals and census targets, creating a plan to achieve goals, and monitoring progress based on established performance metrics
  • mentoring and coaching individual employees and teams, providing guidance and structure to achieve best practice, and working to develop strong clinical skills and optimal performance across all staff
  • monitoring the clinical effectiveness of programs and ensuring that services are consistent with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards
  • leading change by communicating the organization's strategic goals and vision to gain the commitment of staff
  • representing the organization in state, local, and regional committees and attending industry events to stay abreast of new initiatives and competitive opportunities


    • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, addiction studies, or a relevant field
    • Eligible for Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) license in Washington within 6 months of hire
    • Five years of experience managing and developing substance use disorder treatment programs
    • Knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding opioid treatment programs and American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria
    • Any equivalent combination of education and experience within the behavioral health field that leads to expert knowledge of evidence-based substance use disorder treatment, strong leadership and program development skills, and good business management strategies
    • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide documentation upon hire or be approved for a qualifying medical or religious accommodation prior to starting work
