As a Stemilt Spray Supervisor you are tasked with making sure all
spray recommendations from the Regional Manager, Farm Manager,
and/or Foremen, are completed in a timely and safe manner. The
Spray Supervisor will directly supervise 8 or more subordinate
employees, planning and assigning work, appraising or disciplining
performance, and addressing complaints/resolving any problems that
might arise, all done in accordance with the organization's
policies and any applicable laws. This position supports four
thousand Stemilters and it's required to deliver extraordinary
customer service at all levels , in addition to the primary
duties:
- Conduct spray applications in a timely manner and following
applicable laws
- Enter and approve timesheets of the spray team employees
- Organize and delegate responsibilities
- Calibrate sprayers and maintain records of calibrations
- Keep spray equipment clean and in working condition
- Post 24hr notice and re-entry intervals
- Maintain records needed for food safety
- Maintain records needed for the organize program
- Inform of any changes/recommendations to the Foreman or Farm
Manager for approval
- Maintain spray storage areas and fill stations clean and
organized
- Communicate spray plan with irrigation coordinator for the
watering scheduling
- Communicate spray plan with crew bosses for REI or PHI issues
- Maintain a monthly chemical inventory
- Return unused chemicals to maintain inhouse inventory to a
minimum
- Conduct trainings, including but not limited to Pesticide
Handler, PPE, application equipment safety, etc.
- Maintain organic and conventional application and cleaning
records
- Keep track of employee hours for Cholinesterase levels
- Ensure proper recycling of empty containers
- Return bulk containers with empty to the suppliers
- Maintain PPE equipment inventory
- Deliver chemicals to spray fill stations
- Scan employees' work ID badges to record their shifts worked,
as well as bins per employee
- Complete appropriate administrative paperwork
- Address any attendance issues or call-ins with employees
- Enforce Stemilt safety rules and standard operating procedures
with employees
- Move tools and equipment to needed areas
- Ensure supplies for the crews, such as water, are
distributed/in stock
- Create a culture within the team that leads to ensuring
extraordinary customer service for all team members
- Hold self and team accountable and ensure the development of a
self-leadership team culture
- Contribute to the team and the Company in various other ways

Experience:
- +2 years' Orchard Spraying experience
- Supervisory experience
- Valid Washington State Driver's License
- WA State Private Applicators License
- First Aid Certification or ability to obtain one
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED, and/or combination of training,
education, and experience.
- Spanish Speaking/ Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Strong work management and collaboration skills
- Ability to be productive and can identify and resolve issues in
a timely manner
- Reacts well while under pressure
- Good problem-solving skills and can deal with problems
involving several concrete variables in standardized situations?
- Basic mathematical skills, ability to add, subtract, multiply,
and divide in all units of measure while using whole numbers,
common fractions and decimals.
- Highly organized as well as punctual
- Ability to deliver high quality results with an exceptional
transparent, consultative, and partnering attitude
- Ability to interact and connect with all Stemilters

Requirements
- Good leadership skills and excellent communication skills
- Ability to operate a tractor and sprayer
- Understanding of the equipment used for spraying.
- Understanding of measurements and safety labels for spraying
products.
- Comprehension of spray recommendations; pest management; food
safety program.
- Knowledge of the difference between organic and conventional
production requirements.
- Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
- Must be flexible with work schedule.
