As Stemilt's Transportation Support Specialist you are tasked with analyzing, developing, and monitoring delivery plans for the transportation management department. The Transportation Support Specialist reports directly to the Carrier Relations Manager and maintains excellent communication regarding results from proposed changes, possible improvements, and progress on team/departmental goals. This position supports four thousand Stemilters and is required to deliver extraordinary customer service at all levels. In addition to maintaining reports and working with analytical tools to identify any gaps in expectations, using a variety of customer systems to schedule delivery appointments, and resolving any delivery complaints or problems as they arise. Strong problem-solving skills are a must.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist in scheduling appointments for carriers loading at Stemilt and its partners as well as scheduling delivery appointments at final destinations
  • Make appropriate check calls with carriers hired by Stemilt on a daily basis to confirm on time delivery
  • Entering data into system software based of previous tasks
  • Maintain communication with clients and team, respond to emails and phone calls in a timely manner
  • Assist the department in working towards continuous improvement
  • Create a culture within the team that leads to ensuring extraordinary customer service for all team members.
  • Hold self and team accountable and ensure the development of a self-leadership team culture
  • Contribute to the team and the Company in various other ways when requested or requiredReports to: Carrier Relations Manager

        • Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Power Point, Word, Excel, etc.)
        • Working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Power BI not required but a plus!

          High school diploma or GED along with related experience. Experience working in transportation, the tree fruit or agricultural industry desired but not required.
          • Ability to be productive and can identify and resolve issues in a timely manner
