ROLE SUMMARY The Pharmacy Technician performs technical duties
within the Pharmacy, except those that are legally the Pharmacist's
sole responsibility. Essential Responsibilities, include:
- Maintains records and assures accountability of all controlled
- Assists with inventory management, medication and supply
- Practices excellent customer service when answering phone
calls; respectfully problem solves to address customer needs.
Outpatient Duties, include:
- Assists with the filling of outpatient prescriptions
accurately, and processes billing correctly.
- Coordinates activities such as third-party billing, Technician
training, accounts receivable reconciliation and (if applicable)
refill authorization. Inpatient Duties, include:
- Prepares unit dose medications with accurate labeling and
documentation, according to department policy.
- Processes reports and cart fills for automated dispensing
devices (AcuDose, Robot, Connect Rx and Narc Station) accurately
and according to department policy.
- Prepares IV admixtures aseptically, timely, accurately with
proper labeling and documentation per department policy.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Education: High school diploma or
GED equivalent required. Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy
Technician program. Experience: Inpatient Pharmacy Technician
experience preferred. Licenses/Certificates/Registration:
Washington State (DOH) Pharmacy Technician licensure required.
