Job DescriptionGeneral Description: Responsible for company
procurement through the development and implementation of
purchasing strategies and the management of supplier relationships.
Assures economical procurement of materials as well as the timely
planning, control and delivery of materials required to meet
company objectives. Will play a key role in helping sell
procurements value as a strategic partner to the business and help
increase procurement's breadth of influence. Principal
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for sourcing and purchasing raw materials,
packaging components, and supplies necessary to support company
manufacturing objectives. Also sources and purchases materials
needed for office supplies and for new production development.
- Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and
manufacturing processes.
- Confers with suppliers and analyzes suppliers' operations to
determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost
consistent with quality, reliability and ability to meet required
schedules.
- Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects and recommends
suppliers, analyzes trends, follows up on orders placed, and
maintains all necessary records including supplier score
cards.
- Performs yearly document review for SQF audit and updates
records as needed.
- Successfully documents and articulates savings and other
value-added benefits to the business.
- Works closely with cost account to develop, measure and
maintain standard costs development that will serve as budget and
the benchmark for purchase price variance analysis and reporting
(PPVS).
- Works with quality control to ensure inbound materials are
within specifications and takes the lead role in resolving related
issues with suppliers
- Interacts with suppliers to ensure that they are certified
under Pace's policies and that they continually meet or exceed
product specifications.
- Partners with planning and manufacturing to determine necessary
inventory levels and purchasing volumes that will meet customer
demand and production schedules.
- Participates in discussions with LATAM team regarding raw
material requirements submitted on a 12 month rolling
forecast.
- Runs MRP and reviews with supply chain and planning
managers.
- Eliminate/minimize packaging and raw material
obsolescence.
- Timely resolution of non-conformance and associated follow-up
through corrective/preventative action.
- Creates monthly reports as needed.
- Participates in projects involving functional areas such as
R/D, Operations, Sales and Marketing
- Develops policies and procedures for the operation of
procurement activities.
- Champions continuous improvement processes within assigned
areas of responsibility
- Backup for importing raw materials
- Wapato physical inventory coordinator
- Manages EcoVadis platform for Pace
- Other duties as assigned TYPICAL EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
GUIDELINES:
- Typically a BA/BS, or equivalent, with preferred 3-5 years of
related experience.
- Preferred five years of business related experience. Strong
experience working in a highly regulated environment for items
produced under an ISO 9001-2008, GMP Quality Management Systems,
EPA and/or FDA environments.
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Strong negotiation skills
- High level of Excel knowledge including linking multiple
spreadsheets.
- A working background on business systems supporting
manufacturing, inventory, and cost accounting such as Microsoft
Dymanics , JD Edwards and SAP is required.
- Strong business knowledge relevant to approved confidential
formulae, manufacturing, planning, warehousing and
distribution.
- Strong professional interpersonal, verbal, and written skills
when interacting with all levels of the organization and external
contacts.
- Other desirable skills include: Project Management, excellent
teamwork, analytical and conceptual skills; enthusiastic attitude,
positive outlook possession of a demonstrated ability to work with,
motivate other people and a keen understanding of information
systems that support manufacturing operations within the scope of
the position.
- Some travel may be required.
