Construction Project ManagerV.K. Powell Construction is looking for a reliable Project Manager to plan commercial construction projects and oversee their progress along the way in a timely and cost-effective manner. You will be responsible for budgeting, organization, implementation and scheduling of the projects. -Responsibilities:Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completionReview the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costsOversee all onsite and offsite activities related to the project to monitor compliance with building and safety regulationsCoordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractorsSelect tools, materials and equipment and track inventoryMeet contractual conditions of performanceReview the work progress on daily basisPrepare internal and external reports pertaining to job statusPlan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging onesNegotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licensesAnalyze, manage, and mitigate risksMonitor project costs daily to determine project health and isolate/correct potential problem areasEnsure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques -Requirements:Minimum 5 years' experience in construction management of commercial constructionBS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related fieldAdvanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methodsExpert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standardsUnderstanding of all facets of the construction processFamiliarity with construction management software packagesAbility to plan and see the "big picture"Competent in conflict and crisis managementLeadership and human resources management skillsExcellent time and project management skills -Please Read Carefully:The above is the "standard" job description - below is the condensed version.We are a family-oriented company that has been around since 1947 and are currently in our 4th generation of ownership.Many of our employees have been with us 20+ years. -We are looking for someone that:Is looking for a home and shares our valuesIs a team playerWants to live in a smaller communityHas commercial experience in the $1M-$10M range in the type of construction we do.
